![]() ![]() No issues on the following cheap and doable option, I'd recommend this: We have at most two streams running in the house and the the plex dvr could be happening at the same time. I did move the prior PCs ram card to the new one and now have 16gb on this newer one. Last month I came across this one, slightly updated processor but over all same exact case and manufacturer. The only thing I did to the original was upgrade the ram to 12gb. Afterall, this one had been running for 3 years straight as a dedicated plex server at our house too. Overall it ran fine but for $110 or more for new windows 10 I figured I'd buy a newer pc. I recently had to upgrade me HP business class desktop that had windows 7 on it. Any help you can provide would be great and extremely appreciated. If performance gains will be substantial, I will consider. ![]() Personally, I CAN build a PC if I really need to but would prefer not to if I'm only saving like $40. My budget is $300-$400 but would hopefully spend less. I'd like to get to be able to run x265 and/or run 2-3 streams simultaneously. The computer is NEVER used for anything else when streaming. I don't even try to run the x265 because they never work.ĭo NOT currently have Plex pass unlimited but will buy if needed. The x264 are mostly 3-5GB with some in the 15-20GB range. ![]() Even within my house with the server computer hardlined and our rokus hardlined, we constantly get the message, "your server is not powerful enough to stream this media."ĩ5% of my files are x264 with a select few of x265. We only use the server within our house and never stream externally due to what we perceive as hardware limitations. I'm looking to upgrade my current computer that I use as my server.
